Trauma Medicine

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

A patient came with many fractured bones. The situation was agitated and needed fast acts. Neck colar had been put, pelvic bones had been stabilized and everything was done perfectly. The only thing left was to check the back side of the patient. So, the patient had to be lifted to one side. The doctor then asked for my hand.

"Give me your hand! Hurry up!"

I didn't hear the word 'hand' clearly and searched for something on a table beside me.

"Give me your hand! What are you searching for?"

"Oh, my hand. I thought something else,"

The whole class laughed.

By God, I wanted to make it again smoothly by myself.

Language Barrier?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Being a medical student is really amusing. Getting know about human bodies is one of the best things I ever experience in life. No wonder Al-Imam As-Syafie claimed medicine as one of the most important branches of knowledge. From that moment onwards, we start crying, sitting, crawling, walking, running and speaking. Then, entering school, college and the list goes on. These milestones actually help us focus and play a role as a motivation for us to reach them. If none of these milestones existed, life would be dull and nonexiciting as we had nothing to look for in short time. However, they are not the end of the story. Instead, just footsteps to reach the final goal. For me as a muslim, my final goal is the hereafter. All of the things I might encounter in this world are not the ultimate goal. "Know that that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion.." (Al-Hadid:20). Knowing this fact is extremely important as to make us realise where to put things on its place accordingly. Believe me, those milestones will keep changing
