A Question With No Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

I always wonder, why akhawat always outnumber ikhwah, in every ocassions and localities. The question is frequently asked but never being answered seriously. I don’t think it is just about personality difference. Planning, commitment, brotherhood, seriousness. All of them should be considered. I don’t know until when this question will be asked and answered with the same script, or even worse be made as a joke.

Letting go a responsibility is a relief when you have done it great. Otherwise, it is a burden that will make you fell  unsatisfied.

Being a medical student is really amusing. Getting know about human bodies is one of the best things I ever experience in life. No wonder Al-Imam As-Syafie claimed medicine as one of the most important branches of knowledge. In fact, advancement of medical care is always associated with better development of a country as it serves better quality of life. Medical practitioners deal directly with human being. They talk, communicate, touch, examine and even open human bodies. Communication is inevitable, it is a part of daily routines, so as improving communication is obliged for every medical practitioners especially doctors. A medical student who does not give reasonable effort to improve communication skills cannot be accepted. It is completely unethical to touch someone, especially involving private areas, when the patient is not feeling comfortable with the doctor. The patient has no choice that he needs to be examined but the doctor should make the pa...

Milestones in Life

We all have milestones in life. From the moment we got out of our mothers' womb, we already had out first milestone, which is moving from womb to world. From that moment onwards, we start crying, sitting, crawling, walking, running and speaking. Then, entering school, college and the list goes on. These milestones actually help us focus and play a role as a motivation for us to reach them. If none of these milestones existed, life would be dull and nonexiciting as we had nothing to look for in short time. However, they are not the end of the story. Instead, just footsteps to reach the final goal. For me as a muslim, my final goal is the hereafter. All of the things I might encounter in this world are not the ultimate goal. "Know that that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion.." (Al-Hadid:20). Knowing this fact is extremely important as to make us realise where to put things on its place accordingly. Believe me, those milestones will keep changing ...

Extreme Never Lasts

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم In doing anything, being moderate is always the best choice available. In medicine, everything has its normal range value. Respiratory rate should be between 12 to 20 per minute to be considered normal. Less than that is called hypopnea, on the other hand hyperpnea if exceeds 20. So does body temperature, blood pressure and pulse. What doctors need to do is to memorize the normal range and to examine patients if their body systems exceed the normal range. However, extremes are present in any community or groups. The only reason is they have no idea as regard the normal moderate behavior they should practice. So instead, they go being extreme. Sometimes, these people are just blindly following their leaders. It is not their fault, some people are born to just be followers. To be moderate, one should know what is normal and what is not or extreme. How can we say a particular action is extreme or normal if we do not know the opposite? In medical school,...
